How do you attract positive energy and good luck?

You may think it’s impossible. After all, when something lucky happens to you, it probably seems pretty “out of the blue,” and like you did nothing to cause it.

But scientists have been exploring this idea of luck for a while, and they’ve found that lucky people have several habits in common—habits that you can adopt too!

We’re exploring this in this post because we know that positive energy—which is part of good luck—is beneficial for your skin and your overall appearance.

How you feel and how your skin looks are so intertwined that there is now a new field in skincare called “psychodermatology,” in which professionals examine how skin disease affects emotions and vice versa.

Chronic stress, for instance, has been connected to the aggravation of multiple skin diseases, including psoriasis, acne, atopic dermatitis, wound healing, and even the acceleration of aging. Positive emotions, on the other hand, are linked with improved healing, lower risk for disease, healthier weight, and even longer life.

So let’s ditch the stress and find out how to attract more positive energy and good luck!

1. To Attract Positive Energy and Good Luck, Be More Optimistic!

According to a recent study, positive people are more likely to find success in life. In other words, optimism makes you lucky!

Richard Wiseman, a professor of psychology at the University of Hertfordshire and the bestselling author of books such as Luck Factor has studied luck extensively and determined that it is something you can change by changing your thoughts and behavior.

One way to do that is to expect good fortune. When you expect things to go well, you’re more likely to try new things, follow through on opportunities, and persevere in your goals.

Studies have also shown that being optimistic can relieve stress—a definite plus for your skin—and is associated with better health and a lower chance of disease.

To cultivate more optimism, make a point to acknowledge all the good things that are happening to you (make a gratitude list!), and picture yourself experiencing even more of these in the future.

2. Trust Your Gut for More Good Luck

In Wiseman’s research, he found that almost 90 percent of lucky people regularly trusted their intuition when it came to relationships, while 80 percent said it played a vital role in their career choices.

Trusting your gut feeling and going with your intuition seems to be an important factor in creating luck. Lucky people are more likely to notice and act upon their gut feelings, and as they do so, gain practice in using that intuition, which further benefits them in the future.

The key is to learn how to listen and interpret the signals your mind and body send you. Those who are unlucky tend to ignore these or are afraid to rely on their intuition. Try reading some books or taking some classes on intuition, then see if your luck improves.

Good Luck Charm3. To Attract Positive Energy and Good Luck, Create a Good Luck Charm!

You may be surprised to learn that lucky people tend to be a little superstitious. They often carry good luck charms with them and rely on them to help them improve their performance either on the job, in a sport, or when challenged cognitively.

According to science, these good luck charms seem to work. They do so because they seem to inspire confidence and self-assurance, which can lead to success. Other research also suggests that if you think you’re lucky—even if it’s because of a talisman of some sort—you’re more likely to be lucky.

In one study, researchers from the University of Cologne investigated the power of mystical charms. They asked volunteers to take part in an experiment and bring a lucky charm with them. These ranged from stuffed animals to wedding rings and lucky stones. At the start of the experiment, the researchers took the charms away to study them, then returned only half of them.

Then they asked the volunteers to perform a memory test. Those who had their charm with them performed better than those who didn’t. They also felt more confident and set higher goals for themselves.

What’s your good luck charm? If you have one, feel free to use it more often. If not, think about what might feel lucky to you.

4. To Attract Positive Energy and Good Luck, Pay Attention to the Energy You’re Emitting

Think about what happens when you go out into the world feeling grouchy, irritated, and stressed. How do you appear to other people? Are you frowning, walking quickly, or mumbling to yourself? How do you treat other people? Do you snap at them, or try to ignore them so you don’t have to talk to them?

It is true that what you put out into the world, you get back. If you’re putting out positive vibes, love energy, and happy signals, others are going to respond in kind. If you’re doing the opposite, expect more bad luck to visit you.

It’s no accident that when you’re feeling stressed and irritated that you’re more likely to stub your toe or get into a car accident. If you find yourself feeling this way, stop and do something to dissipate those negative feelings. Talk them out into your cell phone’s recorder, journal about them for five minutes, or simply take in a few deep breaths and exhale that negative energy.

Then ask yourself how you’d prefer to greet this day and change your outlook. Notice the good things around you. Put a smile on your face. Enjoy your skincare routine and make yourself look as beautiful as you can. Soon you’ll find your luck changing.

Lemons and Lemonade5. To Attract Positive Energy and Good Luck, Use Lemons to Make Lemonade

Even lucky people aren’t always lucky. In his research, Wiseman found that when bad things do happen to these folks, they don’t dwell on it. Instead, they turn it around and try to find the silver lining in those clouds.

We all have a choice when experiencing bad luck: we can either give in and complain about how bad things are, or we can find the good in the experience and keep going.

You’ve probably had bad experiences that in the end, helped you become stronger or taught you something important. Something good may have come out of those experiences too—things you couldn’t predict at the time.

So the key is, to sum up your courage and keep going, because good luck may be just around the corner. Expect it. It’s coming. In the meantime, you can go for a walk, enjoy a revitalizing skin mask, or call up a good friend to help yourself feel better.
