If You Live in NYC, Come to My Workshop! Safe Self-Care During Cancer-What To Use and What To Avoid

+ Pamela Friedman

Cancer creates a new body, one that’s more fragile and sensitive than ever before. Your skin is dry, nails brittle, hair falling out, and mouth full of sores. But watch out-many over-the-counter products contain harsh ingredients that could make things worse, encouraging burns, breakouts, or even more mouth sores. Many popular products also contain ingredients that have been linked to cancer-definitely not something you want to be using now!

So how do you deal with these changes-without adding more chemicals to your overtaxed body? Attend my workshop and find out!

This October 2010, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Gilda’s Club NYC is presenting its sixth annual lecture series. Join me on October 26th from 6:30 p.m.–8:00 p.m. at Gilda’s Club NYC to learn about “Safe Self-Care During Cancer: What to Use and What to Avoid.”

This workshop is open to the public and is free of charge! Along with other cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers, you’ll find answers to these questions:

  • What’s going on with my skin?
  • Which personal care products are too harsh, and which are safe?
  • How do I deal with this red, uncomfortable rash?
  • Could my toothpaste be causing more mouth sores?
  • Are organic products really better?
  • Does my moisturizer contain ingredients linked to cancer?

I’m bringing my experience as a survivor, makeup artist, skincare specialist and author to share with you the secrets I’ve learned over the years in working with so many people living with cancer. Walk away armed with the knowledge you need to make wise choices about your own self care-at a time when you need it the most!

Location: Gilda’s Club NYC, 195 West Houston Street, New York , NY 10014.
Who Can Come: Open to the public and free of charge. RSVP, however, is required, so please call 212-647-9700 to reserve your place.

I’d love to see my blog readers, friends, family, and anyone with questions about self care during cancer at this workshop! Please pass the word to anyone you know who may be interested!
