18 Summer Solutions for Radiant, Healthy Looking Skin

Summer can be hard on skin. We’re exposed to more UV rays than at any other time of year. Summer heat saps moisture from skin, and every time we jump in the pool to cool off, it gets worse because of exposure to chlorine.

We love getting outdoors, but then we get warm and sweaty, which encourages acne breakouts. And of course, there are the bug bites. Anyone love those long, red scratch marks and irritated red bumps?

Staying fit also has its challenges. Sweat, heat, and humidity wreak havoc on skin, exacerbating acne and causing chafing, cuts, scrapes, and more.

Summer should be a time when you’re proud to show off your skin. Give yourself a glowing, radiant, and healthy look with multi-tasking CV Skinlabs!

1. I have a sunburn: Spritz Rescue + Relief Spray directly on the burned area. Tip: Keep it in the refrigerator. A couple cool sprays will quickly relieve that burning sensation. Follow with Calming Moisture to help calm the burn and encourage faster healing. Enjoy that super glowing complexion!

2. I spent too much time in the sun. Apply Rescue + Relief Spray immediately, and then follow with Calming Moisture for face, or Body Repair Lotion to calm redness anywhere on the body. Repeat 2-3 times a day for the first couple days, until the redness is gone, and then move to strict moisturization.

3. I stepped in poison ivy. Wash the affected skin with a gentle cleanser & cool water. Take an antihistamine & wash all the clothes you were wearing. Try a paste of 3 tbsp baking soda and 1 tbsp water to reduce itching. Once the itching calms, you can use Rescue + Relief Spray for continued cooling, healing and relief of itchy skin.

4. Bug bites, cuts and scrapes-ouch! Try not to scratch! You risk creating a scar. Apply Rescue + Relief Spray for immediate cooling and relief of the itching sensation. Follow with a mix of baking soda and aloe to soothe itching. Try tea tree oil to kill germs and reduce swelling. Moisturize and speed healing by applying Restorative Skin Balm at night.

5. I have callused heels. Mash a raw papaya and rub it onto the calluses about twice a day. Soak for 10 minutes and then rub off with a pumice stone. Follow with Restorative Skin Balm for deep moisturization and step out with terrific looking feet in your summer sandals!

6. My skin is extra dry. The outer layer has been damaged, which makes it harder for skin to hold onto any moisture it may have. All that air conditioning and heat doesn’t help matters. Exfoliate first with natural fruit acids or a gentle, organic scrub. Then apply Restorative Skin Balm to protect and instantly soften dry and chapped skin. Continue to hydrate inside and out to prevent or delay onset of fine lines and wrinkles.

7. My skin is looking dull. Remove dead skin cells through exfoliation. Try a mix of ground oatmeal, baking soda, and water; or mix kiwi, pineapple, and peaches with a little yogurt and honey. Apply for 15 minutes, and then rinse. Follow with Calming Moisture or Body Repair Lotion for a healthy and radiant summertime glow!

8. My legs look dull and dry. Summer is the ideal time to show off your pretty legs. Exfoliate first with a homemade scrub. Try mixing a little brown sugar with olive or coconut oil, scrub, and rinse off. Follow with Body Repair Lotion, which not only moisturizes, but leaves your skin with a radiant sheen you’ll love.

9. My arms and legs are dry and flaky. For all-over body exfoliation, try dry brushing. Before your daily shower, take a natural bristle brush and perform strokes toward your heart. Start at your feet and move up, then from your neck and shoulders, down. This is a great way to get your circulation going. Be sure to apply Body Repair Lotion right after you pat dry. Your body will glow with radiance.

10. My sunburn is peeling. Grate some raw cucumber and apply to the affected areas for at least 10 minutes. You can also try vitamin E capsules, mint juice, olive or coconut oil. Follow with Restorative Skin Balm until skin is back to normal.

11. My skin is super oily. Try some homemade masks to absorb the oil and moisturize skin. Blend a banana with honey and lemon juice, or try crushing an apple and add in a few tablespoons of honey. Apply and leave on for 20 minutes before rinsing.

12. I’ve got dark spots. For age spots or hyperpigmentation, try rubbing a tomato on the affected area a couple times a day. Lemon and lime juice, turmeric paste, papaya, pineapple, milk, and strawberries are also all good ingredients for fading dark spots. Use Calming Moisture afterwards to soothe and moisturize skin. Don’t forget to use sunscreen!

13. My lips are chapped and bleeding. Exfoliate gently with a mixture of lemon, granulated sugar, and coconut oil. Then apply Restorative Skin Balm to deeply moisturize, leaving lips moist and healthy looking.

14. I got a scalp burn. Spritz on Rescue + Relief Spray to the affected area to soothe and heal the burn. Follow with pure aloe for speedy wound healing. Use sunscreen from now on! (Spray types work best on scalp. Look for zinc oxide with an SPF of 30.)

15. I’m breaking out. Try alternating your cleansers. Use a clarifying wash in the morning, and a creamier, enzyme-rich wash at night. Watch your diet-you may want to cut back on dairy and sugar, which can exacerbate acne in some people. Check your makeup-it could be clogging your pores, especially if it has dimethicone in it. Always wash your face before working out, and try Rescue + Relief Spray afterwards for light hydration that won’t exacerbate oil production.

16. Heat and sweat are wreaking havoc on my skin. Exercising in the heat and humidity leaves you extra sweaty and can aggravate skin. Results may include chafing and irritated skin. Get relief with a quick spritz of our Rescue + Relief Spray, and follow with the Restorative Skin Balm to encourage faster healing.

17. My skin is all irritated from shaving. Redness, irritation, bikini bumps…ever shave and then go directly in the salt water? Ouch! We need relief. Men also need to soothe burning, inflamed and irritated skin after shaving. Exfoliate first to keep ingrown hairs at bay, and then use the Rescue + Relief Spray to calm and prevent irritation and redness from surfacing.

18. I want to show off my tan. Whether real or fake, that tan needs to last, right? Use our Calming Moisture. Not only will it give your skin that radiant glow, it will also help prolong that golden tan. You can also use it as a primer before foundation for radiant looking summer skin.
